I totally get the struggle of feeling chained to a desk after living a life filled with movement and energy. I used to be a nationally ranked rhythmic gymnast, a cheerleader, and even danced with my college team. But when the daily grind of my career took over, I felt like I lost a piece of myself.
My energy plummeted, and happiness became a rare find. I tried yoga and pilates to reclaim that spark, but high prices and time constraints made it nearly impossible. Then life threw me a beautiful curveball—a precious daughter, and suddenly, time became an even scarcer commodity.
I wanted to get back to my youthful self, where it wasn't a struggle just to get to the grocery store, not to mention go out for a night or spend time with long-forgotten friends.
I used to be vibrant with life! In my heyday I would go out on weekdays, with still enough energy to work and travel. Each experience was meaningful and fun!
But because time got the best of me it tragically took my energy as well. Every morsal of strength was spent on my baby, and none of it was for me.
If I did try and exercise I was so bored by the workouts that I HAD to get up and leave after just a few minutes. On top of it, I don't live in an area that's good for going on a walk... There are no trails and only heavily trafficked one-lane roads.
I needed a way to workout on MY time, at home, in the brief moments when I was in the mood. I also needed to see results QUICKLY so that I didn't get discouraged.
That's when I started Flexibility Mastery for Cheerleader and modified my dance and gymnastics workouts from my younger days to fit my new lifestyle.
I used to not like stretching because I had only tried them at a class at a gym where the instructor was DEFINITELY NOT a trained dancer. But when I got certified myself and saw the REAL stretch routines, it was a completely different experience.
I like to teach the FUN stretch routines where I lose myself in the relaxation. By the end of my stretching, I feel even more flexible and forgot I was even exercising!
